Rules of participation in the competition of abstract painting

The Eurasian Art Union, the World Foundation for the Arts and the Russian Cultural Center in Beijing invite you to take part in the International Exhibition of Contemporary Art "Art Week in China" and the International Open Air Program "Open Air in Beijing".

Dates of the Art Week in China (Beijing): from 23 to 28 August, 2019
Vernissage (Opening Day): August 23, 2019, 18:30

Rules of participation in the competition of abstract painting

Nominations:
1. Suprematism
2. Geometric abstraction
3. Neo-expressionism
4. Neo-Pop Art
5. Op Art
6. Conceptualism
7. Abstractionism
8. Ethnicity (abstract motives in folk art)

Technical requirements:
1) Technical characteristics of the art objects provided for the contest:
a) in person participation: size of the canvas / sheet / art object - not more than 80 cm on the larger side and not more than 2.5 kg. Paintings and other objects of art are accepted on stretchers (without frames and glass);
b) in absentia participation: a file of at least 200 dpi, up to 20 MB size
3) The author (group of co-authors) can represent any number of art objects in any nomination, but each art object (single canvas or series: diptych or triptych) will be evaluated as an independent work;
4) Formalization of entries:
a) All in person works must be supplied with a label-list (label 5x8 cm. in the lower right corner, on the front side) The label includes: a) surname, name of the author (co-authors) b) city c) name d) technique of execution e) dimensions g) year of creation, e) nomination, g) cost.
b) For in person participants: each entry must have attachments / hooks for hanging on a vertical panel or fixtures that prevent the object from collapsing.
c) For in absentia participants: contest works are submitted to the organizing committee in the form of files in the .jpeg or .tiff format; not less than 200 dpi, not more than 20 Mb. Size

1) IN PERSON, with a visit to the exhibition in China:
The author independently carries work to the exhibition in China and stays there for the entire period of the exhibition.
2) IN PERSON, without visiting the exhibition in China:
The organizing committee transports the originals or copies of the works to the exhibition in China and back; Art objects are collected in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Minsk and Kiev, see the section “Contacts of the Organizing Committee”.
3) IN ABSENTIA:
The author provides works in electronic form; the organizing committee prints photographs of competitive art objects in A3 size and places them in the general exhibition.

Competition program

In 2019, the Art Week in China is held simultaneously with the "Assembly of Plein-airs" and includes two sections:
1) exhibition and competition program
2) open-air program
